To Respective Billiard Industry Organizations and Room Owners:
We would like to request all special event promoters and interested room owners to submit their interest in hosting the 2nd Annual Dr. Cue Classic “Artistic” Cup. This event will take place at agreed upon dating between November 5, 2008 and January 15, 2009. Practice will be on a Thursday all day and play will begin on Friday with final rounds on Sunday. Schedule information will be sent upon request. The sooner all details and dating can be arranged...the better of course for all concerned.
The following is a list of requirements to host the Dr. Cue Classic “Artistic” Cup:
1) A minimum of 8 - 7 foot tables for the actual competition and 6 - 7 foot practice tables with Simonis 860 cloth or similar and high grade Aramith Balls (Competition arena tables will be marked with light pencil grid lines for shot placements, which will not effect regular play).
2) Requested monetary add-on from respective Promoters and/or Room Owners is a minimum amount of $2500 for calculation into the overall prize fund distribution.
3) Support staff for scoring (2 - 4 persons) -- Will be trained by event directors
4) Lodging for event directors and special staff (2 rooms)
5) 3 days for event completion, including player's meeting and press and/or media promotions set up by promoter / room administration.
6) Late afternoon / early evening of last day for award presentations in conjunction with Promoter / Room Owner marketing.
7) Other items of consideration that Promoters and/or Room Owners will provide to make this event successful are as follows:
a) Sectioned off area for tournament tables (curtained area or separate room)
b) Sectioned off area for RACK Room amenities (curtained area or separate room) – See

c) Area for sponsorship banners and posters (short curtain standards or wall display area)
d) 1 Announcer table & 1 Sales table
e) PA system (If not available, we have our own, which we can bring)
f) Water for players at tournament and practice tables
g) Player tables and chairs (3 chairs per table)
h) Stands / easels or adequate wall space for large score sheets for preliminary and final
round scores.
i) Media coverage as budget allows (TV, Radio)
j) Advertisement (Print Frequently)
k) Security (If needed)
l) Simple program for participating players and audience members (optional)
m) Discounted lodging (location in respect to tournament site)
n) Meal allowances
Note: Dr. Cue Promotions will be adding $10,000 minimum to the player prize fund, and special “Artistic” Cup trophies for 1st thru 6th places. Dr Cue Promotions will provide awards for 8 discipline champions, plus 2 sportsmanship awards, in addition to numerous player and audience prizes for select raffle drawings at no charge.
Special Note (1): Please list desired or best dates from November 5, 2008 to January 15, 2009 to host this event. If possible, please provide two timeframes that you can work with.
Special Note (2): A decision on the location/venue for the Classic “Artistic” Cup will be reached by the Dr. Cue Promotions no later than June 10, 2008, so please respond to this request no later than June 5, 2008 with your written bid proposal via email submission. Bids received after June 5, 2008 will not be considered for this event. This will allow Promoters and/or Room Owners, plus Players adequate time to finalize planning and prepare for this prestigious event.
8) Some ideas for host sites to help raise money
a) Collect gate fees
b) Local sponsors to buy ads in the players / audience program
c) Host site to sell caps or t-shirts
d) Raffles for special items
e) Silent Auction
f) Players to sign cue balls to sell at tournament
g) Provide discounts or coupons for local business
We would like to encourage and thank all Promoters and/or Room Owners to consider hosting this event. "Artistic pool" has found significant inroads to fan and player attraction around the world, so all promoters and/or rooms are encouraged to become a part of a growing movement internationally to bring the magnetic appeal of our sport to their location.
